Jean-Claude Dauphin is a French actor born on 16 March 1948 in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, France. He is primarily known for his work in national movie productions in France. Dauphin is the son of actor Claude Dauphin and actress Maria Mauban, and the grandson of poet Maurice Étienne Legrand. He studied at Lycée Paul-Valéry in Paris. Dauphin made his debut in 1968 in the film Adolphe ou l'Âge tendre, directed by Bernard Toublanc-Michel. He is known for his work in films such as The Witness, where he played the fiancé of Claude Jade. Dauphin has appeared in numerous films and is a well-established figure in French cinema.

The following year, in 1969, he appeared in The Witness, where he played the fiancé of character Claude Jade.
