Ileana D'Cruz is an Indian film actress who predominantly appears in South Indian cinema and Bollywood. She was born to a Goan Catholic family on November 1, 1987, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, and was raised partly in Mumbai and partly in Goa. Her family relocated to Parra, Goa when she was 10 years old, and her mother tongue is Konkani. D'Cruz won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South for the 2006 Telugu film Devadasu. In 2012, she made her Bollywood debut in Anurag Basu's critically and commercially successful Barfi!, receiving critical appreciation and the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
