Hesham Saleh Selim was an Egyptian film and television actor born on January 27, 1958, in Alexandria, Egypt, and he passed away on September 22, 2022, at the age of 64. He graduated from the High Institute of Tourism and Hotels in Cairo and subsequently studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He was the son of Saleh Selim, who was an Egyptian football legend and a former president of Al Ahly Sporting Club, and his sister-in-law was the iconic actress and singer Yousra. Hesham Selim began his acting career at the age of twelve when he played one of Faten Hamama children in the film Empire M in 1972. Four years later, he took on a lead role in Youssef Chahine film Return of the Prodigal Son in 1976.
