Biography
Hachiro Tako was a Japanese actor, comedian, and professional boxer born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, on November 22, 1940. During childhood, he survived an accident that nearly caused him to lose the vision in his left eye. He later became the professional flyweight boxing champion of Japan in 1962. Following his retirement from the boxing ring, he transitioned into a popular comedian, appearing in television dramas, commercials, and films such as Toei's The Transgressor. Outside of his performing career, he managed a bar in Shinjuku's Golden Gai section and participated in Oniroku Dan's artist and performer group, Oni Pro. Hachiro passed away on July 24, 1985, at the age of 44, after suffering a heart attack while swimming at a beach in Kanagawa Prefecture.
