Biography

Gwei Lun-Mei is a Taiwanese actress born on December 25, 1983. She began her professional acting career in 2002 with the film Blue Gate Crossing. Following several additional film appearances, she gained wide recognition for her performance as the character Lu Hsiao-yu in the film Secret, which was directed by Jay Chou. In 2012, Gwei starred in the coming-of-age drama Girlfriend, Boyfriend. The film depicts three teenagers navigating their mutual attractions from their high school years into adulthood. The narrative is set partly against the period of martial law in Taiwan, which lasted from 1949 to 1987, and partly during a subsequent era of newfound freedom that the protagonists struggle to navigate.
