Géza Röhrig is a Hungarian actor and poet born in Budapest, Hungarian People's Republic, on May 11, 1967. In the 1980s, he fronted the underground music band Huckleberry, also known as HuckRebelly, which faced frequent interruptions by communist authorities. He studied Hungarian and Polish at university and later graduated from the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest with a filmmaking degree. Following a study tour in Poland and a visit to Auschwitz, he became a Hasidic Jew in Brooklyn and has lived in the Bronx borough of New York City. He published two poetry collections about the Shoah, Hamvasztókönyv in 1995 and Fogság in 1997. As an actor, he is best known for his role in the 2015 film Son of Saul.
