Gérard Filippelli was a French actor, composer, and singer. In 1964, he purchased an amplifier from an American soldier in Chateauroux for 500 francs. Two years later, in 1966, he performed at the Cinema REX, where he befriended Jean Sarrus and Gerard Rinaldi. Initially serving as the sound manager for their group, Filippelli went on to co-found the acting and singing group known as Les Charlots. He remained a member of Les Charlots until 1997.

Throughout his career in entertainment, Filippelli contributed to both acting and music. Records of his professional output indicate a significant presence in film and television, with thirty known acting credits to his name. His long-running tenure with Les Charlots defined much of his career trajectory in the French entertainment industry as both a performer and a musical contributor.

Born in Paris, France on December 14, 1942, Filippelli experienced a personal tragedy in 1970 when his wife died in an automobile accident. He lived until March 30, 2021, passing away at the age of 78. His legacy is preserved through his decades-long work with Les Charlots and his recorded performances in film and television.
