Biography

Frank Reicher was a German-born American stage and film actor, director, and producer. He made his Broadway debut in the United States, playing Lord Tarquin in a production of Becky Sharp, a comedy based on William Makepeace Thackeray's Vanity Fair. Reicher's early career was spent in legitimate theater on and off Broadway, and he was affiliated with the Little Theatre for a number of years. He was also the head of the Brooklyn Stock Company, where he oversaw a production of The Merchant of Venice in Yiddish, with the rest of the cast performing in English. Reicher is best known for playing Captain Englehorn in the 1933 film King Kong.
