Francisco Rabal Valera, popularly known as Paco Rabal, was a Spanish actor born on March 8, 1926, in Águilas, Murcia, Spain. His career spanned more than 200 film and television roles between 1942 and 2001. He received numerous accolades both in Spain and abroad, including the Cannes Film Festival's Best Actor Award and the Goya Award for Best Actor. Rabal was best known internationally for his collaborations with director Luis Buñuel, appearing in films such as Nazarín. Throughout his career, he also worked with notable directors including Carlos Saura, Pedro Almodóvar, William Friedkin, Michelangelo Antonioni, and Claude Chabrol. Francisco Rabal passed away on August 29, 2001, at the age of 75 in Bordeaux, France.
