Engin Günaydın was born on 29 January 1972 in Erbaa, Tokat Province, Turkey. He began his higher education at Hacettepe University Conservatory before transferring in his second year to Mimar Sinan University, where he completed a degree in theatre. His early screen work includes a minor part in the 1997 production Otogargara, a role that led to his casting in the popular television series Bir Demet Tiyatro, in which he portrayed the character Zabita Irfan. Following this, Günaydın appeared alongside Mehmet Ali Erbil and Emel Sayın in the series Askım Askım.

In 2001, Günaydın worked with director Zeki Demirkubuz on the film Yazgi, an effort that earned him the Best Supporting Actor award at the Ankara Film Festival. Expanding his presence in comedy, he began contributing sketch performances to Okan Bayülgen’s television show in 2004.
