Elena Nathanael (Greek: Έλενα Ναθαναήλ) was born on 19 January 1947 in Athens, Greece, and died on 4 March 2008 at the age of 61. Recognised for her striking appearance, she entered the flourishing Greek cinema of the 1960s and quickly attracted the attention of producers and directors. Her screen debut came in 1964 with the Greek film Kati na kaiei, directed by Giannis Dalianidis. The following year she expanded her reach beyond Greece, appearing in the German production The Blood of the Walsungs, directed by Rolf Thiele and adapted from a novel by Thomas Mann.

During the late 1960s Nathanael continued to work primarily in Greek films, where she was frequently cast as a spoiled, affluent young woman. Her performances earned critical recognition, and in 1968 she received the Best Actress Award at the International Thessaloniki Film Festival for her role in an unspecified film.
