Elena Alexandrovna Maksimova, also known by her stage name Елена Максимова, was a female actress born in Moscow on November 23, 1905, and passed away on September 23, 1986, at the age of 80. Her father was a grocer who sold non-perishable goods and her mother was a housewife who was often ill. She grew up alongside two other daughters in the family. Following her father's death in 1920, poverty forced her mother to send all three daughters to Orphanage Number 55 in the Sokolniki district, and after her mother passed away in 1922, she was left completely orphaned at the age of 17. She had dreamed of becoming an actress from an early age and went to the film studio attached to Moskprofobor to sit her entrance exams after finishing school in 1925. She recorded 90 known acting credits during her career.
