Dominic Gerard Francis Eagleton West, born 15 October 1969 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, is an English actor, director, producer and musician. He made his television debut in the 1998 BBC medical drama Out of Hours. West is best known for portraying Jimmy McNulty in HBO’s crime series The Wire (2002–2008) and Noah Solloway in Showtime’s drama The Affair (2014–2019), a role that earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama. He also appeared as Fred, the nephew of Ebenezer Scrooge, in the 1999 film A Christmas Carol, and as Charles, Prince of Wales, in the Netflix series The Crown (2022–2023), for which he received further Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominations.
