Biography
Daniel Scheinert is an American filmmaker born on June 7, 1987, in Birmingham, Alabama. He is one-half of the filmmaking duo known as the Daniels, alongside Daniel Kwan. Scheinert began his career directing music videos, including Foster the People's Houdini in 2012 and DJ Snake and Lil Jon's Turn Down for What in 2013, both of which earned Grammy Award nominations. He co-wrote and co-directed the absurdist comedy dramas Swiss Army Man in 2016 and Everything Everywhere All at Once in 2022. The latter film became the highest-grossing film for A24 and earned him Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay, along with several other accolades.
