Dan Trachtenberg is an American filmmaker and podcast host born on May 11, 1981, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is best known for directing the films 10 Cloverfield Lane in 2016 and Prey in 2022. For his work on 10 Cloverfield Lane, he earned a Directors Guild of America Award nomination for Outstanding Directing for a First-Time Feature Film. In television, he directed the pilot episodes of The Boys in 2019 and The Lost Symbol in 2021, serving as an executive producer for the latter. Additionally, he directed the 2011 short film Portal: No Escape. Trachtenberg was also one of three hosts of The Totally Rad Show podcast, a former co-host of the Geekdrome podcast, and directed episodes for the Ctrl+Alt+Chicken podcast at Revision3.
