Claire Elizabeth Scanlon is an American editor and director born in Chicago, Illinois in 1971. She began her career editing documentaries for PBS and the Discovery Channel, later supervising post-production and producing Last Comic Standing. She joined the television series The Office in its fifth season, working on the show as both an editor and a director. Her editing work on The Office and The Apprentice earned her four Primetime Emmy Award nominations and one win, as well as an American Cinema Editors Award. Scanlon transitioned to directing full time in 2013, directing single-camera comedies for network and cable, including Brooklyn 99 and Modern Family, and she directed the film The Love Hypothesis.
