Casandra Elizabeth Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, is an American singer, dancer, actress, and model born on August 26, 1986, in New London, Connecticut. After being introduced to music producer Ryan Leslie, she signed to his music-media company, NextSelection Lifestyle Group. Leslie wrote and produced her major hit single Me and U in 2006. Leslie then convinced Sean Diddy Combs to partner Bad Boy Records with the NextSelection imprint to release her debut album, Cassie, in August 2006. Her second album, Electro Love, has yet to be released. Ventura has also appeared in films including Spravedlnost podle Spensera, Let's Dance 2, and The Perfect Match.
