Seymour Buzz Kulik was an American film director and producer born on July 23, 1922, in Kearny, New Jersey, and he died on January 13, 1999, in Los Angeles, California. He directed 72 films and television shows. His work included the CBS television network anthology series Playhouse 90, several episodes of The Twilight Zone, and made-for-television movies such as Brian's Song. After leaving the army as a first lieutenant following World War II, Kulik worked in the mail room at the J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency in New York. He responded to a work notice seeking people to direct programs for television and began his directing career by directing the cameras at Yankee Stadium.
