Brigitte Florence Fossey, born 15 June 1946 in Tourcoing, Nord, France, is a French actress. The daughter of a schoolteacher, she was five years old when director René Clément cast her as the orphaned child in the World II drama Forbidden Games. The film received numerous international honors, including the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. In 1957 Gene Kelly hired her for The Happy Road. At age ten her parents withdrew her from acting so she could continue her education; during that time she studied piano and dance. After completing her schooling she worked in Geneva, Switzerland before returning to the screen.
