In France, he is known for his roles in two films directed by Edouard Molinaro, Hibernatus and Mon oncle Benjamin, as well as his voice acting work in dubbing. He is noted as the official French voice of actors Stanley Tucci and Ray Liotta. Alane became prominent on television during the 1970s and 1980s, gaining television stardom in 1975 with the television series Les Compagnons d'Eleusis, also known as Die Eingeweihten von Eleusis.
