Alfred Hawthorne Benny Hill was an English comedian, actor, and scriptwriter who lived from 21 January 1924 until 20 April 1992. He is best remembered for his television program, The Benny Hill Show. This comedy-variety show utilized a format that incorporated both live and filmed segments. The program was characterized by an amalgam of slapstick, burlesque, double entendre, and innuendo. Within this format, Hill served as the focus of almost every segment.
