Anthony Perkins was an American actor and singer. He made his film debut in The Actress (1953) directed by George Cukor. Perkins gained success on Broadway with Elia Kazan's production of Tea and Sympathy (1955). He is known for his roles in various films, including The Tin Star, Desire Under the Elms, The Matchmaker, Green Mansions, and On the Beach. Perkins worked alongside notable actors such as Henry Fonda, Sophia Loren, Shirley MacLaine, Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, Fred Astaire, and Ava Gardner. He left Hollywood in 1960.
