Anni-Frid Synni Princess Reuss of Plauen, widely known as Frida Lyngstad, Frida, or by the mononym Frida, is a Norwegian-born Swedish pop and jazz singer. She was born in Bjørkåsen, Ballangen, Norway, near Narvik, on November 15, 1945, to a Norwegian mother and a German father, and grew up in Sweden. She is best known as a member of the Swedish group ABBA, in which she participated between 1972 and 1982. Following the break-up of ABBA, she pursued an international solo singing career with mixed success and recorded her final album in 1997 before retiring from music. Her filmography and acting credits include appearances in programs such as The Kenny Everett Television Show and Spede show.
