Anne Gwynne, born Marguerite Gwynne Trice on December 10, 1918, in Waco, Texas, was an American actress and model whose career spanned from 1939 through 1970. Signed by Universal Pictures at age twenty, she co-starred with Buster Crabbe in Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe and appeared in some thirty-eight Universal films, becoming one of the studio's recognizable stars. She also co-starred in an additional twenty films for studios including MGM, Allied Artists, and RKO Pictures. In television, she co-starred in Public Prosecutor, the first filmed dramatic series for television, filming twenty-six episodes for NBC during 1947 to 1948, which was also known as Crawford Mystery Theatre. During the 1940s, she gained prominence as one of the early scream queens. She passed away on March 31, 2003, at the age of eighty-four.
