Angela Finocchiaro is an Italian actress born in Milan on 20 November 1955. She began her theatrical career in the early 1970s, working with the experimental company Quelli di Grock while simultaneously studying medicine and attending the Accademia Filodrammatici in Milan after completing high school. Recognised as a popular theater comedian from that period, she made her film debut in 1979 when director Maurizio Nichetti cast her in Ratataplan. Since then she has worked across theatre, cinema and television, accumulating more than eighty credited performances. Finocchiaro has received the David di Donatello Award for Best Supporting Actress twice, for her roles in Don’t Tell (2005) and My Brother Is an Only Child (2007).
