Biography

Andre Royo is an American actor, producer, and writer. He was born on July 18, 1968, in the Bronx, New York, to parents of African American and Cuban heritage. Royo attended Mount Saint Michael Academy in The Bronx from 1982 to 1986. He is best known for his role in the HBO series The Wire. Royo has also appeared in various other television shows including Fringe, Party Down, How to Make It in America, and Empire. In film, he has had roles in Shaft, Super, The Spectacular Now, Beautiful Boy, Prospect, and To Leslie. Royo is married to Jane Choi and has a daughter, Stella.
