Anahí Giovanna Puente Portilla, known mononymously as Anahí, is a Mexican singer, songwriter, and actress born on May 14, 1983, in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. She began her acting career in 1986 when she was cast on Chiquilladas. She subsequently worked on numerous Televisa telenovelas, including Alondra in 1995, Vivo por Elena in 1998, El Diario de Daniela in 1998, and Mujeres Engañadas in 1999. Her first leading role came in Pedro Damian's production Primer Amor... A Mil por Hora in 2000, followed by joining the cast of Clase 406 in 2003. She achieved international success in 2004 by starring in Rebelde and joining the group RBD, which received two Latin Grammy Award nominations and sold over 15 million records worldwide.
