She has worked as a contributing editor for two film magazines, the British publication Sight & Sound and the American publication Film Comment. Additionally, she has written regularly for publications including The Village Voice, The Millennium Film Journal, Artforum, and the SoHo Weekly News. Taubin also formerly served as the curator of video and film at the non-profit experimental performance space known as The Kitchen.
