Biography

Aleksandr Gorchilin is a stage and film actor, video artist, and director. He enrolled at the Moscow Art Theatre School in 2008 and has worked at the Gogol Centre since 2012. Gorchilin played a lead role in Valeria Gai Germanika's film Yes and Yes and appeared in Kirill Serebrennikov's film The Student, earning a NIKA Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He debuted as a director with the documentary film #KOMUNARUSIZHITKHOROSHO in 2015, which received a special jury mention at the Dvizhenie festival. Gorchilin also participated in the opera production Iolantha OPUS and released a second documentary titled Russian.
