News of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine has no results of cooperation with Israel yet. The Ukrainian leader announced this at a press conference in Vilnius, answering a question from an Israeli journalist: “Isn’t it time to invite Benjamin Netanyahu to Kiev – almost the only European leader who has not yet come with a support visit to the capital of Ukraine?”

“Firstly, I invited Mr. Netanyahu,” Volodymyr Zelensky replied. “And secondly, I also invited two other prime ministers, who were before Mr. Netanyahu, to Ukraine. So far, the prime ministers are different – the result is the same.”

A similar situation, according to the Ukrainian president, is with the provision of air defense systems to Ukraine from Israel.

“As for the air defense systems that we asked from our partners from Israel,” Zelensky said. “We have been asking since the beginning of the war, but months have passed in much the same way as with the prime ministers – there is no result.”

And he stressed: “Unfortunately, because Ukraine is very interested in maintaining such important historical, close relations between our states. Unfortunately, there is no result yet.”

The broadcast of the President’s communication with representatives of the world media on Facebook was broadcast by the Office of the Ukrainian President.

As previously reported, Israel is providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine at war and providing medical equipment and uniforms for rescuers. In the first months of the war, the Jewish state set up a field hospital in Western Ukraine for wounded Ukrainians.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly called on Israel to decide with whom it is – “with the democratic world or with those who turn a blind eye to Russian terror.”

On June 25, the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel stated that Israel, under the guise of statements of neutrality, is actively establishing relations with the Russian Federation, and called on the Israeli government to change its position and support Ukraine with defensive means.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stressed several times that Israel does not supply Ukraine with military aid. At the same time, according to him, Israel is “not neutral”, but is on the side of Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression.
