Offenbach (dpa) – Blue sky, sunshine and a first hint of summer: On Thursday afternoon the thermometer climbed to 25 degrees and more at four weather stations of the German Weather Service (DWD). This means that Thursday was officially a summer day in these places. The leader was Ohlsbach in Baden-Württemberg with 25.2 degrees, followed by Freiburg with 25.1 degrees, said a DWD spokesman. With exactly 25 degrees in the afternoon, Emmendingen-Mundingen (also in Baden-Württemberg) and the weather station in Trier-Zewen (Rhineland-Palatinate) scored points.
This first number of summer temperatures could possibly change by the early evening, a meteorologist said. “There are quite a few stations that are pretty close to the mark at 24.8 or 24.9 degrees.” On the other hand, it was significantly cooler in the north-east than in the south-west of Germany. The temperatures on Rügen were only twelve degrees.
