The prisoner told how six Russians put 30 Ukrainian soldiers to flight
Captured Shcherbina told how six Russians put 30 Ukrainian soldiers to flight
According to him, in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, morale is low, besides, general drunkenness, reports RIA “Novosti”.
A native of the city of Alexandria, Kirovograd region, born in 1984, came under mobilization, having left work in a tipsy state. The man was stopped by the police, and then the employees of the military registration and enlistment office, who immediately took him away.
The prisoner said that he had served in military service back in 2003, worked as a grenade launcher, so during the mobilization he became an assistant grenade launcher.
According to Shcherbina, in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine they drink a lot, including from fear, and the fighters also do not want to participate in battles.
The prisoner also said that, despite poor training and low morale, Shcherbina’s unit was thrown into the hottest spot – the area of the villages of Staromayorskoye and Urozhaynoye in the west of the DPR.
“We occupied the trenches, then the Russian tank started firing. I got scared, lay down in the trench. Russian soldiers appeared. They said to give up, I immediately raised my hands. Then they told how 30 of our people ran out of the landing, that is, they dispersed the six of us, ”he said.
Shcherbina noted the good attitude of Russian soldiers towards prisoners.
“As they showed us, they told us (in Ukraine – approx. VIEW) that it’s better not to surrender, but in fact they (Russians) shared their last meal,” Shcherbina noted.
Shcherbina also said that Russian soldiers are more motivated.
“But they told us something completely different. We even think the same. Why fight? We are all Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians – how did it happen that we are at war?” the prisoner remarked.
Earlier, Ukrainian Marine Volodymyr Reul told how the Armed Forces of Ukraine first abandoned him during the retreat in the Kherson region, and after that the SBU, having recruited him as an agent on Russian territory, deceived him and actually handed him over to the Russian military.
