Images of the luxurious Volkswagen Viloran have already appeared on the web.
The German brand has already tried to sell large minivans in the United States, where the Routan model was a failure, as well as in Europe, which adopted the Sharan minivan no less coldly. Therefore, the company set its sights on China – there Volkswagen introduced a new minivan under the name Viloran, and its renders are already surfing the Internet.
The Germans have no doubt that Volkswagen Viloran will be successful in the Celestial market, because there is a slightly different idea about minivans than in Europe or America. There, the spaciousness and high ceiling in the cabin are appreciated not only by large families, but also by businessmen – it’s much easier to get into a premium minivan with comfort than even the largest crossover or business sedan.
In addition, Volkswagen Viloran really looks luxurious inside: all 3 rows of full seats are upholstered in white leather, wood and aluminum are also used in the interior trim. The dimensions of the minivan are 5346? 1976? 1781 mm with a wheelbase of 3180, which is larger than any other brand car built on the MQB module, including Volkswagen Teramont. “Viloran” even got a 436 liter trunk, which is not so bad for a 7-seater car.
Under the hood of the Volkswagen Viloran is a 2-liter turbo from the Chinese version of the VW Teramont, available in two degrees of boost for 186 and 220 forces. Paired with it is a 7-speed “robot” DSG and front-wheel drive.
Volkswagen Viloran will be sold in China closer to the end of spring, and prices will amount to 49.5–56.6 thousand dollars, depending on the configuration, that is, 3.6–4.1 million rubles translated into Russian currency. It is still unknown whether Viloran will go for export, but judging by the reviews, the Russians are also waiting for a German guest from China — apparently, local businessmen also want to adopt the experience of the Chinese. In addition, users acknowledge that the new minivan is much cooler than Teramont.
Russian motorists like the idea of buying comfortable minivans instead of boarded SUVs: “A cross-country training manual has failed,” they joke. Yes, and the appearance of Volkswagen Viloran on the network was simply bombarded with compliments: “Still, VW learned how to make decent cars”, “It seems to China, but very pretty”, “The same front end is needed on the Tuareg”, “The only Foltz and minivan that really liked “, – motorists write.
