TYTSJERK – After four years there was finally another village festival in Tytsjerk. A week of fun and entertainment for young and old. But this year no decorated cars on Friday, which has been a tradition in Tytsjerk for years.
According to chairman Harmien Vellinga, so many rules and regulations have been added, such as fences around the cars. Children must be in seat belts, the speed of the tractors must be reduced and then the insurance that can no longer be paid for a party committee. “We do not want and cannot bear that responsibility and do not want to place it on the shoulders of the tractor drivers, which is why we have opted for this solution”.
And this solution works out very well, the residents are enthusiastic. The participants are also very satisfied with this solution, a small group comes up with an idea and on many streets you see that everyone, from young to old, will participate. The jury members who had the difficult task of declaring a winner were also full of enthusiasm. According to Harmien, this evening has yet to be evaluated, but it seems that this set-up will be here to stay.
