“A chronic underinvestment”

the Prytanée is one of the 6 military high schools of the Defense and welcomes children of soldiers, civil servants and scholarship holders.

“These high schools have suffered for many years from chronic underinvestment which made it essential that we invest a lot to bring them up to standard,” recalled the Minister.

Out of 115 million euros for 6 high schools, more than half (65 million euros) is dedicated to Prytanée from The arrow.

“We have undertaken thermal renovation work and the economic stimulus plan is contributing to this. »An amount of 7.6 million euros is dedicated to this.

After the creation of boarding school buildings, in 2020, other works are carried out, in particular in the Henri IV district, the oldest part of the Prytanee. This involves, among other things, restoring the library floor. Rooms are also being renovated.

Attractiveness and excellence

For the establishment, which aims for academic excellence, it is also a question of promoting diversity, including within the armed forces.

“It is obvious that the accommodation conditions contribute to attractiveness,” said Florence Parly.

The daughters of the Prytanée were also the first to invest in the new dormitories.
