A crazy last day in the mountains

04.09.2021 | (rsn) – What a stage! On the penultimate day of the 76th Vuelta a Espana, the class riders let their sabers rattle again and there actually was a fall on the podium after all. Miguel Angel Lopez (Movistar) was shaken off by a tactical error and Jack Haig (Bahrain Victorious) climbed to third place overall. But that’s not all: At the end of the day Lopez was not even to be found in the result, while Clement Champoussin (Ag2r – Citroen) cheered at the front of the stage victory, even though the French outlier had actually been caught, overtaken and left behind.
