French woman wants her life back
“Hello, my name is Jeanne, my name was Jeanne and my name is still Jeanne even after I was pronounced dead in 2017.” For four years, Jeanne Pouchain has been fighting a bizarre battle with the authorities in France. A court had pronounced her dead – and to change that status it is not enough just to be alive. Pouchain must be officially raised from the dead. The official mishap has completely changed her life. “My life – is nothing. I feel completely useless. I can’t do anything, and it’s very difficult. I can sit here for weeks without getting a single phone call.” Meanwhile there is hope. A court will deal with the case and issue the necessary papers and documents. There is no exact date yet, but Jeanne can hardly wait. And then she just wants to live a quiet life with her husband.
