An episode bordering on the absurd took place outside the stadium in Budapest, on the eve of the semi-finals of the men’s 200 meters at the World Cup 2023 Athletics. An electric car, in which some sprinters were traveling called to try their hand on the track on the half lap of the track, collided with another car. A surreal accident between two cars, with the one coming from the right (with the athletes on board) not respecting precedence.
Yes is made an impact, with even a person thrown to the ground. We proceeded at very low speeds and there were no problems for the athletes on board. Among those present was also the American Noah Lyles, fresh 100m World Champion and great favorite for the success on the half lap of the track. Precisely because of this episode, the first semifinal (the one in which Lyles was present) was postponed and we started with the dispute of the second semifinal.
After the accident Noah Lyles showed up on the track and clocked a superb 19.76taking the pole position in view of tomorrow evening’s final act. Below is the VIDEO of the car crash before the semi-finals of the 200m at the World Cup.
