In Andiran, the farmers of the department exhibited their old combine harvesters recycled into racing machines, offering, for hours, a muscular spectacle
From the top of his nacelle, Pierre Sartena gives voice. The show’s official commentator brings the race to life like a Formula 1 competition. Except that the vehicles are not state-of-the-art, but old combine harvesters, taken out of the closet and refurbished for the occasion. Seven of them, with all found names (Diablotine, Dominator, Attila, etc.) gave to see, Friday August 4 and Saturday August 5, the spectators present at a place called Monplaisir.
Coming from Puymirol, Nérac or Laplume, the farmers, drivers for a day, showed caution during the first races, before beefing up their game and causing shocks and pile-ups, all without gravity. In the public, many families watched until the end of the night, never tired of the machines, launched for some at nearly 70 km / h.
