Robbie Williams fans rejoice.
The great British pop rock is headed to Australia for a unique show in Melbourne, coinciding with the Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2020 of Formula 1.
He is going on stage for the inaugural World Tour, which will be alongside the competitive event and will arrive at the Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park on March 14th.
“I can’t wait to come to Australia, it’s a place in my heart. I feel like an Australian when I’m there, and if there’s an opportunity to go over there, I grab it with both hands,” said Williams of the show.
The organizers of the World Tour said in a press release that they supported the fundraising efforts for the forest fires, with further details to be announced.
The statement said they would use the show to “provide a platform for artists to talk about and take action in the event of a climatic emergency.”
Speaking of the devastating forest fires that have engulfed Australia since October, 45-year-old Williams said the situation was “unfathomable”.
“This is beyond a tragedy, what has happened and what is happening in Australia is unfathomable,” Williams said.
“You see photographs of what is really going on, they can’t sink, you can’t understand it, it is beyond any reality that we have experienced before. I think it would be trivial for me to send my love or condolences, I think need more. “
Tickets will go on sale January 20 in Ticketek, with general admission tickets available (standing and seated) and exclusive access seats.
Williams is considered to be one of the greatest entertainers of all time, with a host of successes including Angels, Rock DJ, Let me entertain you is Better man.
