Luis Claudio Cervantes Liñán It was sanctioned with 22 tax units (UIT) by the Bankruptcy Procedures Commission of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi). The former rector of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University (UIGV) received the fine after completing the investigations regarding violations of the Bankruptcy Law.
His sanction amounted to 96,800 soles. According to the entity, the former representative of the house of studies failed to request the registration of Resolution No. 2105-2020 / CCO-INDECOPI, in which the UIGV had to declare the status of the bankruptcy of said institution and the dissemination of the procedure. However, this did not happen despite the 10 business day period.

Cervantes had a salary of approximately two million soles and, during his tenure, Sunedu did not grant institutional licensing to said university. Likewise, this authority spent an average of 15 years in office.
In 2020, the former rector resumed his position as the highest authority, although a suspension was issued due to the questions against him for the use of assets and surpluses for purposes other than university during the period 2016-2017.

According to Sunedu, the UIGV granted remuneration and bonuses to authorities and civil servants without an objective sustenance in spite of the deficit situation in which it was. It also sponsored activities that were not linked to a university purpose and financed trips in favor of the rector and other authorities that did not have an institutional objective.
