The director of Turespaña, Miguel Sanz, has passed through the SER microphones this Tuesday and has announced that the organization plans to make a strong investment in promoting Tenerife in New York. As he explained, they have already had the first meetings with the airline, together with the Cabildo de Tenerife. The action coincides with the launch of the new direct route between the island and New York that United Airlines will begin operating on June 9.
The aim of this campaign is to guarantee the success of this flight, which Sanz considers great news for Tenerife and the Canary Islands, since it represents the opening to the North American tourist market, where the Archipelago is still a great unknown. A market that Sanz has described as very demanding but that at the same time understands that it has enormous potential. On the other hand, he has ensured that his department remains in contact with the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de La Palma to, as soon as possible, take up promotional actions to relaunch the destination.
Likewise, Sanz expressed his intention to do everything in his power to promote the new terminal in the South of Tenerife.
