Spanish police arrested three Real Madrid youth players for questioning on Thursday. An investigation is underway into the distribution of a sexual video featuring a minor.
Three Real Madrid players were arrested in the Spanish capital on Thursday for questioning. They are suspected of distributing a sexual video featuring an underage girl. The players themselves are adults, but belong to the youth and reserve teams of the Spanish top club. According to the newspaper The country the suspects are between 18 and 21 years old.
The case stems from a complaint from the mother of a sixteen-year-old girl in the Canary Islands. According to police, the girl had sexual relations with one of the players in June. These happened with mutual consent, but the video recording was made without her knowledge and distributed via WhatsApp. The latter also involved the two other players.
“As soon as more details of the facts become clear, we will take the necessary action,” Real Madrid said. The Spanish football world is in the grip of complaints about inappropriate behavior. Today the former president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, appears in court. He must answer for kissing Spanish world champion Jenni Hermoso on the lips without asking.
