Freddie Mercury, 2pac, John Lennon or Heath Ledger are some of the most international celebrities who, despite having died at a young age, their artistic legacy remains immortal over the years, still being remembered by millions of people around the world. .
For this reason, the photographer Alper Yesiltas wanted to pay tribute to them in a very special way: by making a photographic series in which he reverses time and imagines what they would be like today if they were still alive.
With the help of digital editing programs, an exercise in imagination, and a bit of technological savvy, Yesiltas has managed to introduce us to international celebrities who died a few decades ago several years older.
To do this, the photographer incorporates some signs of old age into their faces, making us imagine for a moment that these stars have never passed on to another life and are still among us today.
“I would like to share with you the first series of images of my project with Artificial Intelligence called As if nothing happened (As if nothing had happened). This project shows the answer to the question of how some people would look right now in a photograph if some great events had not happened to them”, says the photographer who also confesses that “I have been imagining scenes and capturing memories for about 19 years”.
Everything we can imagine can be shown in reality
Not only that, Yesitas also assures that “With the development of Artificial Intelligence technology, I have been motivated for some time thinking that everything we can imagine can be shown in reality,” says the photographer.
A project that has been made possible thanks to artificial intelligence and that has brought back to life some of our cultural idols who died decades ago, including: Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Bruce Lee, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Heath Ledger, 2pac, Freddie Mercury or John Lennon. A unique and well-achieved project that is capable of making anyone feel nostalgic by remembering some of the artists who have gone down in history.
