The watch that celebrities want is not (always) the most exclusive Rolex, nor the Royal Oak in collaboration with MAD Paris. Sometimes it’s a Casio G-Shock.
With a popularity that has been rising and falling like the Ibex 35 in times of electoral campaign, the Casio G-Shock has come to adorn the dolls of Kanye West, Pharrell, Justin Bieber or Rihanna in their best moments. His stellar moment occurred in the 2000s and, for a couple of years, we have been seeing him timidly rearing his head to regain the top positions on the list.
Their latest collaboration proves it. Casio has partnered with one of the brands that, if you like fashion, you want to get on the radar.
Is about Daily Paper. The Dutch firm was created almost 10 years ago by the trident of Hussein Suleiman, Jefferson Osei and Abderrahmane Trabsini. Their identity was unique: they wanted to do contemporary fashion to which they carried their African heritage.
For the brand’s first foray into the world of watches, they have created a Casio G-Shock DW-5600 that drags us back to the 90s and makes us delighted with the trip. The initials of the signature, in monogram, appear on the dial and on the strap. The icon is on the back of the box. A logo “Daily Paper” also appears on the dial, with backlighting when this mode is selected.
Like all Casio G-Shock, this edition has high resistance to shocks (also in its LCD glass) and can be submerged up to 200 meters under water. It will come in a special box and will be limited edition, although we still do not know how many units we are talking about.
