Spain rejoices for the victory of the Women’s World Cup, but on social networks users rise up against the president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales. As immortalized on live TV, during the awards ceremony for the Spanish players in Sydney – where the Spanish beat England 1-0 – the manager kissed Jenni Hermoso, one of the team’s veterans, on the lips. In fact, from the images we can see the midfielder on the podium who – after receiving the medal from the president of Fifa, Gianni Infantino – heads towards Rubiales. The latter grabs her face with both hands, embraces her and finally kisses, without consent, the player on her mouth. A gesture not appreciated by Hermoso herself, who in a video shot during the celebrations in the locker room and posted on Instagram told her clearly that she did not appreciate her. “I didn’t like it,” said the Spaniard. The 33-year-old is one of the best-known players on the women’s national team, thanks to a successful career spanning nearly two decades.
