It was not a party congress of soft tones. For minutes, the whipping moderator screamed his heart out in the Helmut List Hall in Graz. Dozens of party personalities were called out by name, each one given frenetic applause, which increased the level of noise and euphoria from time to time and created a high spirits that prompted Chancellor Karl Nehammer to exclaim alarmingly in his welcoming speech: “So many people in such a small one Space also means: so many viruses. But today we don’t care.”
