The flow of cars and people across the state border of Kazakhstan has doubled, Voice of the People reports with reference to the TV channel “Message 24».
According to the KNB Border Service, up to 190,000 people cross the Kazakh border per day. In just 7 months, this figure exceeded 20.5 million people. At the same time, almost half are foreigners.
They also record attempts to cross the border using someone else’s or forged documents. There are more than 150 such facts, the border service reported.
The border service explains the increase in the flow of people and vehicles at the border by increasing the country’s transport and transit potential, opening new air routes, simplifying visa and immigration rules for foreigners to develop inbound tourism.
At the same time, there are attempts to transport weapons and ammunition across the border. There are 166 such facts.
In addition, the border guards managed to prevent the export of foreign currency for almost 3 billion tenge and jewelry for more than 180 million tenge.
Earlier, Serik Akhmetkaliev, First Deputy Head of the Department of Border Protection of the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said that Kazakhstan had planned the construction of 50 outposts on the state border. Currently, 20 border offices are being built directly on the border with the Russian Federation.
