Swiss startups prefer to go public abroad

It was an extraordinary week for the Swiss economy. Two promising companies dared to go public: Sportradar, sports data provider from St. Gallen, had its initial public offering (IPO) on Tuesday. The shares of the Zurich sporting goods company On have been available to everyone since Wednesday.

Thanks to prominent brand ambassadors, the IPOs made headlines not only in this country, but all over the world: As is well known, On has tennis icon Roger Federer (40) on board. One of the investors at Sportradar is Michael Jordan (58). The basketball legend rang the “opening bell”.
