At the beginning of the pandemic, Sony launched the Play-At-Home initiative. Numerous free games were distributed to them in a total of four campaigns– including, for example, Ratchet & Clank. The motto: stay at home and gamble while maintaining social distancing in order to slow down the infection process. At least as far as the game downloads are concerned, it was a complete success.
Almost 60 million titles were redeemed as part of the initiative. Including 11 million PS VR titles and over 30 million games from PlayStation’s indie partners. More than 4 million have struck in add-ons and in-game content, according to Sony Interactive Entertainment.
